Midlands-based classic car restoration specialist Cape International recently took the CapeSport #1, a fully restored 1977 Porsche 911, to the Oilcooled 20 event at Boxengasse, a 100-acre destination dedicated to the Porsche marque.

Cape International was founded by Managing Director Steve Norton in 1993 initially as an Austin Healey restoration specialist and over the years has branched out to restoration of classic Porsche models.

“Even after a full restoration such as with our first CapeSport 911 the first few trips inevitably highlight a few niggles. Combining test drives and outings makes all the difference and Boxengasse aligned perfectly with our road test schedule.

The car has been built for cross-country blasts so we set the Porsche Classic SatNav to ignore motorways and headed off to Bicester. It was great to see so many Porsche enthusiasts safely enjoying the fabulous facility Frank Cassidy has created. With Autofarm on site not only do you get to see his fabulous collection but also a Porsche specialist too.

Dusk was falling as we left and it started to drizzle, extending the test to include wipers and lights too! All in all a great day out made even more enjoyable by the 911’s faultless performance throughout.”
