Austin Healey Sprite Mk I Frogeye
274 NRA was registered in Sheffield on the 10th December 1959.
Appearing now as built in Iris Blue paint, blue interior and the front bumper as included in its original option list.
Its restoration has progressed in stages, firstly, the all steel bodyshell including the original bonnet followed by a full overhaul of the engine in 2000 that included an upgrade to 998cc, stage 2 gas-flowed head and the fitting of electronic ignition and K&N air filters.
The car has the preferred smooth-case gearbox which was rebuilt with the engine. More recently the brakes (converted to discs and servo-assisted), shock absorbers and fuel system have all received attention in readiness for its sale.
‘NRA’ is part of a small family collection and whilst it is run regularly and stored in a heated garage it has only covered 6000 miles since 2000. Current miles are 45735, believed correct.
Included in the sale, tonneau, hood and frame, fitted seat belts, spare wheel and jack.
A hardtop is available by separate negotiation.
Original RHD cars are getting rarer especially when presented virtually as delivered 61 years ago.
A comprehensive file of receipts, photos, heritage certificate and some MOT’s will accompany the car.
