1987
Our founder, Steve Norton bought his first Austin Healey, a rusty project RHD Mk II tri-carb, and it was completed in perfect time to deliver him to the church for his wedding day in 1993.
1992
The car that started it all. Steve Norton proud as punch with Concours award for his first Austin Healey SEE 360.
1993
The Midland Healey Centre was launched and the Austin Healey journey begins.
1994
Our first catalogue was printed. In the days before the internet this was one of the first glossy accessory catalogues devoted to Austin Healey.
1999
The company’s name was changed to Cape International reflecting a link to the Warwick birthplace of the marque and our widening reputation for selling parts worldwide.
2002
AH50 Golden Anniversary Celebrations.
Steve Norton joins the AH Club’s organising team planning the marque’s 50th anniversary.
Our first CapeSport 3000 is assembled ready for launch at AH50. It is launched to rave reviews and features on front cover of Classic Cars magazine.
2003
Cape International’s 10th Birthday
CapeSport 3000 is delivered to its new owner. With finishes like unique metallic silver over gloss black, a black hardtop and minilite wheels, it firmly placed Austin Healey in the GT class.
2004
Works start in earnest on the CapeSport 100S
2005
AHX11 is one of the first 19 prototype BN1 cars hand built at Warwick and the earliest standard pre-production car on the planet! Its arrival at Cape for full restoration cements our reputation as marque experts. The finished car would eventually be acquired by the Dutch Healey Museum as one of their key exhibits.
2008
The Austin Healey Club celebrate again at Goodwood for the Sprites 50th birthday. Cape join with a CapeSport 100, AHX11 and the ‘Monaco car’.
2009
AHX11 and latest CapeSport 100 take top honours at Concours.
2012
Cape relocate to larger premises in Redditch. This move provides bigger workshops and improved office space, new staff arrive and systems are upgraded.
2014
Cape purchases 911’s and starts its Porsche adventure. Same high quality standards applied to a new marque.
2016
Our Earls Court Motor Show BN2 arrives at the UK Austin Healey Clubs National Concours. On display for the first time since its 1955 debut it wins its class and becomes national Champion.
2019
Drew Pritchard and the film crew from ‘Salvage Hunters’ visits Cape.
2019
RLF 500, one of the original 55 100S arrives at Cape for ground-up restoration. Our long-standing association and proven experience and knowledge of these rare cars helps us secure the project.
2020
Cape completes the 100S restoration and RLF 500 represents the Austin Healey Club at Hampton Court for the prestigious London Concours.
2020
Official launch of CapeSport 911 #1.
2021
Cape exhibit at the Honourable Artillery Company in London to curtain raise their second CapeSport 911.
2021
Cape comes full circle, Steve proud as punch (again) receiving class and outright concours prizes with the restored RLF500.
